As is the majority of the time, we were asked by our client to assist this claimant back to work within stated physical restrictions. RTW restrictions on this claim were simple and straight-forward – no lifting above 50 lbs. Easy to advocate for to employers! This claim had been a growing problem for our client thus they decided to put aggressive Voc. on it…and the rest is history!
Approximately three weeks later, after only his second job lead we secured, the claimant was hired. The claimant was compliant and showed an enthusiasm of wanting to work. His attitude plus our aggressive way of performing job placement resulted in a very quick job hire!
Conclusion
This case is a prime example of why direct employer contact is crucial and so effective for gaining the upper hand on claims via Return to Work. Had we not called the employer and verbally set up the interview, and instead asked the claimant to simply apply, the claimant’s application likely would have been passed up because the claimant had no relevant experience pertaining to this job. By calling employers directly we can sell the claimant’s strengths, work ethic and personality to get the employer interested. This is one of the key differences between our Return to Work program and our competitors.
